Technical and Safety Standards
ABNT NBR 16690:2019: This standard establishes the requirements for electrical installation projects of photovoltaic arrays, covering everything from sizing to safety.
ABNT NBR 5410:2004: General standard for low voltage electrical installations, applicable to photovoltaic systems, covering aspects such as conductors, protections and grounding.
ABNT NBR 5419: Set of standards on protection against atmospheric discharges (SPDA), essential to guarantee the safety of photovoltaic equipment against lightning.
NR 10 and NR 35: Regulatory standards of the Ministry of Labor and Employment, which deal with safety in electrical installations and services and working at height, respectively, both relevant to photovoltaic installations.
Fire safety: Specific standards, such as Technical Standard No. 49/2023 of the São Paulo Fire Department, which require rapid shutdown devices and other safety measures in buildings with photovoltaic systems.
